European Multi-Stakeholder Platform on Celiac Disease
Participants of this multi-stakeholder platform on CD were, among others, invited during the first CDEUSSA workshop in Naples (WP2). Leading experts from disciplines beyond those traditionally collaborating are participating in our European Multi-Stakeholder platform. A few of our European industrial partners are, for example, from Numico (The Netherlands), Eurospital (
Italy
) and Phadia (
Germany
).
Aims
The European Multi-Stakeholder Platform will advise the European Union on research on CD and will develop new research projects. Platform meetings will be held after each CDEUSSA workshop, involving the main stakeholders from cross cutting research areas and representatives from patient organizations and food industry. The aim is to generate the basis for innovative research on prevention and treatment and to conduct this research after the end of the CDEUSSA project. The members of the European Multi-stakeholder Platform on CD will be committed to work on CD-research strategies towards FP7 and to collaborate with other national and international groups active in research and management of CD, such as the International Coeliac Association.
Next platform meeting
The next European Multi-stakeholder Platform meeting will be held after the second CDEUSSA Workshop. As a result from the "brain-storm" from the workshops and the collaborative work with the multi-stakeholder platform, we will produce:
WP4: A State of the art Document on CD research in
Europe
WP5: A Common Research Strategy on CD with recommendations to the FP7 program on CD. This policy advice on CD research strategy that will be presented to the European Commission, will improve the ERA by further involving clinical practice and food industry in CD research: something that has been lacking in previous FP projects on CD.
